Our Story

Our story begins with us. My husband and I built Not All Weepy together after a medical diagnosis changed our lives.

For years, I lived with pain, weakness, and unanswered prayers. As my symptoms got worse, the list of explanations narrowed until genetic testing finally gave me the answer: FSHD Type 1, a form of muscular dystrophy. Part of me was relieved. There was a name for it, a reason for the weakness, something real I could point to and say, See? This is happening. But it also meant learning what it was like to live with a progressive disease that wasn't simply going away.

The future we had pictured changed almost overnight.

Together, we are figuring out this new life and doing our best to stay ahead of the progression.

It took time to get past that initial shock, but eventually, I found I could make room for a little humor, a little sarcasm, and a little grit. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Once I was able to say I have muscular dystrophy, I started looking for products made for people with FSHD and other forms of muscular dystrophy. What I found was mostly awareness merchandise, ribbons, and a lot of "warrior" language. Very little made me think, Finally, somebody understands me.

I wanted products that reflected the awkward, frustrating, and sometimes ridiculous parts of living in a body that doesn't always cooperate. We could all use more laughter, a few smirks, and reminders that a diagnosis can be part of your life without becoming the whole story.

Sometimes humor says what we're tired of explaining. Someone sees it and thinks, Yep. Exactly. And for a moment, no explanation is needed.

That was the beginning of Not All Weepy: products that help people with muscular dystrophy express what they already think, feel, and live, with a little humor and just enough edge.

Life with muscular dystrophy has its weepy moments.
But it's Not All Weepy! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Humor. Hope. Stronger Days.

If any of this feels familiar, come rest under our canopy and stay for a chuckle or two.
